#1 Victorious
victorious
The Wanaka Tree is a well photographed location. On this visit we had fog!! It transformed the tree into something I hadn't seen before. Shooting from inside the tree line, I managed to shrink the tree, I felt victorious in changing it's perspective and diminishing it in the frame.
However, the tree is still the subject and still commands attention in the composition, so I'm not actually sure if I was the victor! |

#3 Hooked
Hooked
I have seen many images of Hooker Lake and have wanted to photograph it for many years. Each new amazing image I saw the more I was hooked on this location. On this trip I finally had an opportunity to walk into Hooker Lake and hopefully get an amazing image. As it turned out, I didn't get my shot ... but I did get this image on the way out.

#4 Alignment
Alignment
I have shot this location many times but never captured the image I wanted or thought the location deserved. After a blustery morning, the wind died down and the rain subsided. Some mist and haze helped lighten the background, allowing the trees to stand out against the mountains. Bad weather was on my side for this one.
