Flinders Island

Flinders is a small Island that sits to the North East of Tasmania. It is truly one of the most amazing places I have visited. Endless beautiful beaches with turquoise water and incredible rock formations. As a photographic location it has to be the best kept secret in Australia.
What makes it so unique is that it is incredibly untouched and pristine, pick any beach and you have a 99% chance that you will be the only one on it. But it is not all beaches and rocks, the Island is mountainous and is also one of 52 islands in the Furneaux Group. There is also an abundance of wildlife, including, wallabies, wombats, echidna.

We will be staying at the wonderful Mountain Seas Lodge, and we have the whole place to ourselves. You will have a King or Queen room to yourself and all meals will be catered for in-house using local and organic produce..... perfect !!

How to get to Flinders Island

Sharp Airlines fly to Flinders Island from Essendon in Victoria and Launceston in Tasmania.
My advice is to fly to Flinders from Launceston not Essendon, even if you are in Victoria. From Launceston the flights are daily and reliable. As we are in Sharps Winter flight schedule, they cut back on the Essendon flights and are very good at cancelling these flights at the last minute.
Hence I highly recommend that you fly out of Launceston.
